How many times a week should I pole dance?

I think this is one of the questions we've heard the most in our studies and it's the same question we get from first-time MPDS ONLINE STUDIO enrollees.

Actually, the answer would be it depends.

At first, for a time it may be a good idea to do only one class a week if you are not very used to physical activity but soon it should become two, which is the ideal frequency for a beginner-medium level to acquire technique and strength quickly but without too much effort if you are not athletic.

In time, when you have more experience, you can safely aim to do three workouts a week and dedicate other days (preferably between each workout) to improve flexibility or strength training.

What we've seen is that there comes a point where going from two to three workouts a week really makes a difference in strength, skills and endurance.

This is the time when so many pole dancers start thinking about buying a pole to train at home. Going three times a week to the studio can be difficult to manage between all the daily duties, so having the pole in the house helps you organize your schedule when and how you want.

This way you can always alternate between workouts where you're a student, others where you structure your session (find some tips here), and others where you rely on an online program, like MPDS ONLINE STUDIO. You will definitely have more times when you dedicate yourself to freestyle!

However, even if you do once a week, because the commitments do not allow anything else, don’t worry because you always learn something that will allow you to improve.

In any case, always remember to rest: you can either dedicate just one day to complete rest or add a second day of active rest, for example, by taking a walk in nature or some light flexibility training.
